Help me by answering me these 3 questions, please. Do you plan to use tracking? Do you plan to use phone only or lenses and filters? Any crazy moves planned, like crane-up or crane-shots?

Tracking , sometimes but probably not all the time Just phone lens , nothing will be added I got no idea what are the crazy moves you just talked aboutl ol but I guess maybe occasionally when I am doing something fun with friends and family

Did you actually watch the video, where I show you the differences? Is there any aspect that particularly makes you feel over is better suited than the other?

I feel in terms of Ai tracking, yes. Plus you can get a remote control. In therms of pure stabilisation, probably the Zhiyun is marginally better. But the MT2 will handle phone plus a small camera. This zhiyun smooth 5S ai is smartphone only. It all depends in what you are looking for and need…

You should have filmic pro on one phone and filmic remote on another. Is that what you have?

@@SamuelSotiega right now I'm using the zy cami app with zy remote which I have to pay a subscription fee about 5 bucks a month, because I want to be able to find my composition when I'm filming myself on a tripod. but once I find my composition it would be nice to be able to switch to the filmic pro app with filmic remote to dial in the settings so its nice theres options like this! I still think the osmo pocket 3 with the mimo app is the most convenient and discreet in public but it's cool theres options, thanks for giving me the idea. I'm so intrigued about this ai camera stuff I'm going to skip the smooth 5 ai which I'm sad they can't just let me use the adapter on my 5s but I'm excited about the mt2 gimbals and m6 and all the new stuff coming out!

It is!!! I still use it a lot with my camera, specially when I need movement in my shots using the AI tracker and I need to use my mirrorless camera…

You can use it also for building/creating mini scenes, so many uses…

If you use a mirrorless camera, the MT2 is a great addition if you plan to use the AI tracker… if purely for stabilisation, i would recommend the zhiyun M3S…

The only thing I know to do what you have in mind is filming remote, but it can be pricey as you also need filming pro on a separate phone, unless you are using the legacy version… Zhiyun has the zy play app, that you can use on a separate phone for remote control and sort-of monitoring. You can either remote control or monitor, so you could position the framing, the switch to monitoring to confirm you got it right. I hope it is making sense. But with either solution you need 2 phones, one of the gimbal recording, the other one remote control/monitoring…

@@SamuelSotiega yes I have an iPad, I also want to ask you what is that wireless remote you have? It looks so helpful but honestly at this point it seems like osmo pocket 3 even 2 is the easiest option because you only need one phone to remote and monitor 🥺🙏

I plan to do a video comparing the M6, the 5S AI, the Feiyutech scorp mini2, the hohem MT2… probably in the second part of July. Off on holidays from tomorrow with the family..

How much is the pay load because I’m hoping the same thing! I have the smooth5s but I can use mobile lenses but not mobile lenses and microphone

If you have an M6, I would stay with it and keep the money in the bank. That is a good and solid gimbal. AI tracker is great on the M6…

Have you tried mounting the microphone to the gimbal’s handle, that way the mic does not need to be part of needs to be balanced… Does it make sense?

@@SamuelSotiega I think it’s more so the adapter for the mic pushes the phone away from the centre point so it’s not that it can’t be balanced the motor is enough but not when it’s off calibration from the weight unless there’s a counter weight

I tested the AI tracker individually on the 5S but it wouldn’t work. Maybe in the future they do that, it would certify be helpful to so many!! Are you happy with your 5S?

@@SamuelSotiega very happy with the 5s , is the tracker necessary? I’d only upgrade for a bigger payload or maybe I wait until iPhone 16 so I don’t need to use an extra lens for 0.5 or tele When I use a microphone attached like a wireless mic, the payload can’t balance moment lens but without the mic the payload is perfect

I have used a side handle for an additional support. Rather than having both hands on the gimbal and introducing diuble the vibration, the side handle means I get the additional stability but none of the associated potential vibration… I hope it makes sense. What do you have in mind or what are you considering?

@@SamuelSotiega I agree. Altho I have the previous one it is of high quality and capability. Strong motors can manage a heavy smartphone with case and filter 🫡

@@ARAW-__- yes, zhiyun has not messed the range as they get it better… And the motors is something I always liked about them.

I know what you mean. The question is, how essential that is, really? Personally I find that I hardly ever need to make changes to the camera once set up. Plush it can actually be a bit distracting for me in getting the shot right. But we are all different…

My phone is the 13 pro max. But to be honest. I use a smaller case. I use sandmarc lenses and I use their lighter case and avoid pushing it so hard…

@@SamuelSotiega thnx for the quick reply. I am using the 15 promax with the neewer case and 18mm lens and it fits. It holds up well, but I was trying to use the neewer cage so that I could add an SSD drive on top. It does not fit the gimbal clamp when we add the cage. How would you add the SSD drive to the kit? Any idea?

Well, the unit I got did the job.. But there is currently on amazon.com a zhiyun smooth 5 for $109 amzn.to/4cduXJQ that I think it is a much, much better option…

@@SamuelSotiega smooth 5, not smooth 5S, (the one you had in a video) which is almost double the price. The smooth 5 $110 has the same problem with the reviews being 15% 1-2 star reviews. That said, i think there’s a problem with the listings on Amazon with Hohem isteady mobile - older and newer versions (including a 2024 model) are not listened as being new in any way, so different listings have the same reviews as older models, so I think they may have fixed the latest model but the reviews stayed the same! Stupid of them not to list it different. So the reviews may be totally wrong, pretty annoying.

@@RootinrPootine i feel the only noticeable difference between the 5 and the 5S is the addition of an LED light on the gimbals itself. Personally I have never used it. But it is still a good gimbal and The stabilisation is great. It is amazon, it has a return policy of 30 days. Yu can buy it, test it and if you are not happy, return it, so your investment is safe… are you geographically in a place you can order from amazon?

@@SamuelSotiega huh, that’s weird, I just assumed stay away for the 5 cause the positive review was for 5S for $185 not $110. So I figured I’d go for the brand that had the best in class at a higher price point-hohem. I found it on Amazon w a $35 off coupon so I ordered - I’m gonna see if it’s the 2024 model, cause that’s quite a deal. If not, then I return it :) But Zhiyun is prob a good brand too 🤷‍♂️

That’s a bit harsh. Yes, the autofocus has its moments, but I have bern filming with it for 8 months and I have never had to ditch a single clip. I do get the odd clop here and there where the focus hunts or “pulses” but as a whole, it has never ruined a shot for me to the point I can’t use it. But I agree with you that there is a lot of room for improvement, without a doubt. I guess it all depends on what you do and how you do it…. But this camera, for what you get, it is fantastic, come on, you know it, I know you do… 🫢😀 You might enjoy this video though… How many things do you agree with me? @@SamuelSotiega I don't think so. The continuous focus mode CONSTANTLY searches/pulses for focus, it's so annoying and a lot of my footage has been lost. For example. I walk into and out of a shot, the continuous focus just pulses all the time as it doesn't know what to focus on. I don't want to always use tracking, I sometimes just want to walk into the shot and out again (I make hiking videos) without it pulsing. Then you might say, then just use single focus but then that means it's only focused on one point so when I walk towards/away from the camera, this give the shot an unnatural look. So while it's a brilliant camera with superb features, this focus issue is a BIG issue imo and needs fixing with an upgrade. The solution I think is to have an infinity focus mode (like the action 4 camera does) and then we can choose, infinity , single, continuous and tracking for various shots we want. There are a few videos around now of creators talking about this issue because if it keeps making some footage unusable, the experience becomes somewhat unenjoyable.

@@whatsnottohike have you tried reaching out to DJI support because I don’t experience the issues you are experiencing, and definitely not to the degree you seem to be suffering. I agree with you that it is far from perfect, but most of my shots come out fine…. If your camera is faulty DJI should be able to replace it. I wish I could help you. If you are London based we can meet up one day and compare side by side….

@@SamuelSotiega camera id fine. It's just terrible focus. I live in Barcelona, not UK. Same applies if you're ever here 🙂

Nah, man, it's not that bad. Been using it for a couple of months and it's fine. I did set it to single focus on a couple of occasions and I'd be happy if it had some sort of manual focus, but the issue you mention makes no sense.

@@SamuelSotiega Mr. Samuel, after watching the comparison video of Dji RS 3 mini, Weebill 3S and M3S I ordered the weebill 3S. I am yet to start testing it, but I am sure it definitely wins even against the rs 3.. It may not have the extra bells and whistles but it has the best stabilization, which is why I was looking for Gimbal in the first place.. One can just compare the side by side footage and look at the background, then we can easily understand that there's more jitters in other Gimbal but not in this one...sorry for the long comment but I hope it helps someone. It all depends on each individual. The video is meant to be as an idea or concept. What equipment I have is different than yours. The idea is to travel nimble and light. What I propose is that we all consider the weight we carry on our backs and make a decision accordingly so we actually get to enjoy our travel/holiday/time off without compromising too much or at all on image/video quality. I hope you know what I’m trying to say…
